We take on a limited number of projects at a time so that one of us is always on site. That is the whole business model.
- Communicate clearlyYou know what is happening on your project before it happens. Schedule, scope and cost are discussed with you, not decided for you.
- Keep the site cleanTools stored, debris hauled and floors swept at the end of every working day. Your house should still feel like your house during the job.
- Build it right the first timeProper flashing, correct fasteners, level and plumb framing. The details that do not show in a photo are the ones that decide how the work ages.
Caleb and Micah grew up together and ended up on the same job sites, framing, building decks and doing finish work for other contractors across Southern Maine. The thing they kept running into was not bad carpentry. It was bad communication: homeowners who did not know when the crew was coming, what it would cost or who was in charge.
M&C Carpentry was started to fix that. The people who walk your project and write your estimate are the same people building it, and they are on site every day it is open. Most of the work in Waterford, the Lakes Region and Portland now comes from referrals, which is the only review system that matters to us.

Fully Insured
M&C Carpentry LLC carries full liability coverage. Ask for the certificate of insurance and we will send it before the first day.
Written Estimates
Maine law requires a written contract for home construction over $3,000. Ours itemizes the scope, price, start window and duration.
Permits Handled
We pull the building permit, prepare drawings where needed and schedule the inspections. You do not chase the town.

Who owns M&C Carpentry?
Caleb Hawley and Micah, co-owners and working carpenters. They grew up together and started the company after years working side by side on job sites across Southern Maine. Both are on the tools every day.
How long have you been in business?
M&C Carpentry LLC was formed in 2025 after six years each in residential carpentry, from framing and decks through finish work and cabinetry.
Do you subcontract?
Framing through finish is done by our own crew with an owner on site. Licensed electricians and plumbers are brought in where code requires, scheduled and managed by us, so you still have one point of contact.
Where are you based?
Waterford, Maine, in the Oxford Hills. We serve a 47-mile radius that covers Greater Portland, Lewiston-Auburn, the Sebago Lakes Region, Bridgton, Norway and Bethel.
Are you insured?
